Standout tracks: Mountain (a 12-minute trip that you won't want to end) and Öresund (which will take you from jazz to trance, you read that right).

Sa Pa - In a Landscape

Sa Pa, mysterious artist from Berlin, whose previous release dates back to 2015. This time with a more significant focus on abstract and complex dub techno, along with dub ambient, with lush textured environments and artistically manipulated field recordings. Hazy, hypnotic, subaquatic and experimental, all in one package. Worth listening from beginning to end at home, or playing at the club.

You will hear Sa Pa's tracks on the Selector Radio Show, as well as it is included in my Spotify playlists: Dubtronica, Dub Techno and Dub Techno Late Night.

Yilan - Regression

UK producers Yilan deliver a set of tracks somewhere between techno and electronic breakbeats. Even when Regression is the main track, Ark, is my favorite.

Skykot - Perfect Shape

Perfect Shape is the debut of Skykot from Russia. Inspired by projects such as Home, Florida Skyline, Memorex Memories, Viq, Stratford Ct., MVC, Electronic Gems and many others in the style of chillwave/chillsynth. Sweet mysterious and unusually deep motives with a pleasant rhythm are combined in this album.

Techno Rebelde: Un Siglo de Músicas Electrónicas

La web es un vasto mar de información, y entre las joyas que podemos encontrar gratis, está el libro Techno Rebelde, Un Siglo de Músicas Electrónicas escrito por Ariel Kyrou. El cual narra el apasionante camino que la música techno ha recorrido para llegar hasta su forma actual después de una serie de fusiones y difusiones de formas estéticas musicales.

¿Quién fue el primer DJ? ¿Porqué se usan sonidos abstractos? Y muy importante ¿Qué es el verdadero techno? Si bien estas preguntas se responden indirectamente, es impresionante el contenido y la disección por partes que podemos encontrar en esta narración que bien merece una película. Por difícil que parezca, esta obra detalla cómo cada corriente y forma de pensar a lo largo del tiempo ha contribuido al techno actual, y deja abierta la posibilidad de hacernos pensar en las formas que adquirirá en el futuro.

El documental Black to Techno revisa la historia del techno en voz de sus pioneros

Siempre se agradece tener un buen documental de techno, lo cual ya es un poco inusual, y más si viene de una marca como Gucci, símbolo de elitismo. Al parecer la inclusión les ha llegado e inspirado para crear Black to Techno, un nuevo mini documental que ofrece una visión de los orígenes de la música techno en Detroit, y sus interconexiones con los sonidos de la música electrónica alemana.

Los productores hacen una buena labor al rescatar películas antiguas donde se narra la historia e influencia de las razas en el surgimiento y desarrollo de la música techno.

Super interesante documental con testimonios de los orígenes de esta música, incluidos el futurista beatjazz Onyx Ashanti y al productor seminal Juan Atkins.

Alerta por actualización de Windows 10, afecta al audio de tu computadora

Microsoft ha lanzado en estos días una actualización de su sistema operativo Windows 10 para solucionar problemas reportados por sus usuarios, entre ellos, el alto e innecesario consumo de CPU. Pero esta actualización, la KB4515384, ahora produce problemas en el menú de inicio, fallas en conexión a redes inalámbricas, y lo que más nos importa como productores: interrupciones en el audio.

Este problema ya ha sido reportado por usuarios corriendo videojuegos y usuarios de DAWs. Es altamente recomendable no actualizar a esta nueva versión, si tu sistema funciona bien como está, lo mejor es dejarlo así, ya que no hay soluciones definitivas para este problema.

Algunos usuarios en la red han reportado que para evitar problemas, podemos desinstalar la el último update, pero esto nos haría regresar a los problemas de versiones anteriores. La única opción con la que Microsoft nos deja, es elegir el problema con el que queremos lidiar.

Tal vez lo mejor por ahora sea deshabilitar las actualizaciones automáticas de Windows 10, para hacerlo puedes encontrar las instrucciones en este tutorial de Tech Support Berni_i.
